Very large antique oriental vase with enamel-painted scenes

Refined vintage statue of a putto leaning on a tree trunk adorned with fruit and leaves, made in marble powder and white cement and then finely hand-painted.

Description
The work, of clear classical and Baroque inspiration, stands out for the sculptural quality of its forms and the softness of its volumes, recalling the grace of eighteenth-century decorative sculpture. The putto, caught in a serene and playful attitude, shows a careful anatomical rendering: the gently modelled face is framed by flowing curls, while the body expresses a harmonious naturalness and a notable lightness of composition.

Taken as a whole, the sculpture conveys a timeless elegance, a perfect meeting of artistic tradition and the decorative sensibility of the twentieth century.
