The body recalls the classical style of the period, read again with great skill: wide, well-proportioned front drawers, balanced and harmonious lines, workmanship careful in every detail. The fronts are enriched by inlay done by hand, with elegant symmetrical motifs and refined contrasts of colour. Completing the composition are the finely worked bronze knobs and the base with small square, tapering column feet, which make the piece stable and visually balanced.

The materials are fine woods — bois de rose, birch, walnut and oak — in warm shades of brown. The surfaces show a rich working that brings out the natural grain of the wood, giving the piece depth and value.
