Description
Fine holy water font in marble of Veneto origin, datable to the 19th century and most likely made for a minor church setting or a private chapel.

Made in hand-carved marble, it has a hemispherical basin carried on an elegant turned stem and a moulded circular base.

The basin is wide and well proportioned, with thick, slightly shaped edges. Slight marks of time are visible, in keeping with its original use and with the presence of holy water.

The whole shows a sober but refined formal balance, typical of the liturgical work of the period.
