The finely shaped sides give lightness to the whole, following the soft line of the piece with naturalness and showing off the skill of the carving. The top fits perfectly with the body beneath, while the drawers show fronts of balanced proportions. The slender legs, lightly shaped and tapering downwards, speak of a refined dynamism and carry the whole structure with grace. They are joined by a small central apron, restrained but well chosen, which enriches the profile of the piece and brings out its typically Venetian bearing. The result is harmonious, measured and full of charm, with that character of the eighteenth-century Veneto in which the soft line, the discreet ornament and the quality of the build come together in a perfect balance
